We’ll look for you to provide expertise and support to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating and resolving all types of appeals and grievances. You’ll be charged with analyzing / identifying trends and may need to help resolve written Department of Insurance complaints and multi-issue provider complaints. We’ll back you. We’ll train you. You’ll need to focus on bringing out the best in team members through coaching, huddles and modeling proper behaviors and practices. You’ll be accountable for overall team performance within a demanding, fast-paced environment that involves a great deal of complexity. Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise daily / weekly / monthly activities of a 20-25-person team including setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met Coordinate work activities with other supervisors, managers, departments, etc. Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment Provide coaching, feedback and annual performance reviews as well as formal corrective action Communicate with appropriate parties regarding appeals and grievance issues, implications and decisions Analyze and identify trends for all appeals and grievances


Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED (or higher) 1+ years of experience working in a customer service role in a call center environment or in a claim or an appeals role 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role with direct reports Any experience with Microsoft Word (create, edit, and read documents), Microsoft Excel (create, edit, and read spreadsheets) Ability to work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with the ability to work some evenings and occasional weekendsPreferred Qualifications: 1+ years of process improvement experience Previous HR responsibilities (hire, fire, review, etc.) Previous Appeals and Grievance experienceCareers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
