Be a part of Service Operations provide perfect service and guidance to members.


Humana is seeking a Customer Care Specialist for our call center to directly respond to questions, handle issues and provide guidance to both internal and external customers.

  • Receive, document and resolve customer inquiries by using established best practices
  • Build lasting relationships with Humanas customers
  • Educate customers, providers and employers about Humanas products and services over the telephone

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual, English and Creole fluent in both languages, written and spoken, and must be able to speak, read and write in both languages without limitations or assistance.  You will also be required to take a Language Proficiency Test.
  • Two years of experience in a highly customer service oriented environment  
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and helpful even when dealing with upset customers
  • Foster teamwork and partnerships with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and improve customer experience
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work between the hours of 7 AM and 6 PM

Role Desirables

  • 1 year experience in an medical office setting utilizing a computer based practice management software system 
  • Ability to handle high call volume and multi-task while providing an exceptional customer experience
  • Experience in eClinicalWorks or other electronic medical records system such as Epic, Nextgen, Athena Health, NextGen.
  • Experience with Avaya telephony platform desired
  • Knowledge of and strict adherence to HIPAA

If you are selected to move forward in the interview process, you will be prompted to complete the Virtual Job Experience, either at time of application or you will receive an email after you apply.  You should anticipate that the Virtual Job Experience will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes.  To complete it you will need a computer with web access and speakers or headphones.  If you are selected for the next interview step, you will be notified via email and the next step will be an interview with the hiring manager.


Additional Information

Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.
