Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm)   The Director is responsible for understanding the business requirements of OptumRx Specialty Pharmacy and identifying the means for fulfilling those requirements utilizing the suite of products and services, providing continuous improvement leadership in order to meet the business needs and goals for delivering growth, increasing performance and elevating the customer experience. This role will act as a liaison with teams within Optum Global Solutions, OptumRx Operations, and other areas of UnitedHealth Group to ensure the best practices are executed and acted upon in all lines of the business.This position is also responsible for management of Patient Care Services teams, providing guidance, direction and management for all functions necessary to achieve business objectives. Responsibilities also include developing resources within the department to provide service, professional assistance and product support in order to improve Specialty Care service, Net Promoter Score, and profitability. Primary Responsibilities: Direct operations to meet budget and other financial goals by providing short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals Review operational performance reports in order to determine overall effectiveness, make necessary changes, identify opportunities, and incorporate operations program performance information into strategic and business planning Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies, seeking opportunities to improve operating efficiencies / effectiveness (e.g., downstream impacts, role / responsibility realignment, enhanced business value) Provide effective leadership in developing business initiatives and implementing and evaluating the planned programs, analyze performance and variances throughout the fiscal year, and recommend and/or make necessary adjustments Provide leadership to and accountability for the performance and direction through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff, encourage the ongoing development and training of personnel, and facilitate resolution of issues between departments and across business units Build and demonstrate an understanding of relevant business areas' leadership, structure, responsibilities, and work flow Create strong and effective cross-functional collaborative partnerships with other internal departments in multiple disciplines to identify the operational impact of changes within defined solutions Conduct deep dive program reviews with relevant internal and/or external stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, incorporating operations program performance information into strategic and business planning Partner with applicable stakeholders to identify the operational impact of changes within defined solutions  


Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of related experience 5+ years of operational leadership experience 5+ years of call center operations experience leading 100+ advocates Management experience inclusive of strategic planning, fiscal responsibility and personnel management functions Ability to travel 50% Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within the Specialty Pharmacy market 3+ years of customer experience including NPS Understanding of call center operations, pharmacy benefit plan structures, pharmacy transaction processing, health care quality standards, HIPAA regulations and other regulations pertaining to Pharmacy Operations   Careers with Optum.
