Overview of the role: The primary duties of this role are to drive sales and build relationships with Financial Advisors over the phone by introducing Hartford Funds products. The Internal Advisor Consultant must achieve and maintain an expert knowledge of the Hartford Funds product line and the Mutual Fund Industry.
Q: Do I need experience in the Investment or Financial Services business to be considered?
A: It certainly helps, but its not necessary to get started. Depending on experience, you may spend your first several months training and attaining your licenses before getting a territory.
Q: What if I dont have sales experience?
A: We are definitely looking for people with a sales mindset. Does that mean you have to have sold something? Again, it certainly helps but if you feel that you are destined for sales and you havent had a shot at it yet then come and talk to us!
Q: How am I assigned a territory? Do I get to choose?
A: We make an assessment based on whats open, your skillset and personality and the requirements and personality of your future partner(s). Some sales reps support 1, others have 2-3 that they support.
Q: Will you consider people outside of Philadelphia for the role?
A: For the right people well consider covering nominal relocation expenses.
Responsibilities of the role:
Sell, cross-sell and upsell our products to Financial Advisors at the industrys most recognized companies
Master the sales process and uncover sales opportunities
Partner with the external sales person (Advisor Consultant) to develop territory business plan
Plan and execute active email marketing campaigns within assigned territory
Act as a go-between with the home office and Advisor Consultant in the field
Develop relationships with Financial Professionals through outbound calls, emails and letters to share ideas, providing product information, and offering sales support
Deliver sales ideas and pitches to achieve sales goals
Provide personalized, web-based hypothetical illustrations
Ask for referrals and business
Handle special projects as assigned within the Sales Desk
Attend various sales meetings and training sessions
Maintain contact management system (CRM) to track all calls and conversations
Resolve service and other business related issues
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field preferred
NASD Series 7 63 or 66 licenses required within first 3 months.
Minimum of 1-2 years of sales experience preferably in Financial Services
