What you’ll be doing...
Verizon's Yahoo Small Business (YSB) team is seeking to hire a Merchant Development Account Specialist. Verizon has announced plans to transition Yahoo Small Business into the Verizon core company (from Oath). This position will be part of that planned transition.
The Yahoo Small Business Merchant Development team consists of a highly tenured group of account managers whose focus is on retaining and growing revenue for the highest grossing merchants on our ecommerce platform.
The function of the YSB Merchant Development team is to engage, consult, and advocate.
Maintaining daily outreach and regular engagement with all assigned merchants.
Assisting in resolving merchant’s technical issues directly where possible and facilitating communication with engineering teams and connecting with third parties where applicable.
Performing regular ecommerce best practices reviews on the websites and stores under your management and providing consultative reports to the merchants to act on.
Tracking revenue growth/decline for accounts under your management.
Pitching internal features and products with return on investment for our merchants.
Travelling on a limited basis for ecommerce and internal events, potentially meeting with merchants directly.
Identifying at risk/high value accounts under your management and engaging, consulting and negotiating in order to retain their business.
Participating in team events and projects as needed.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
Knowledge of Web Hosting and ecommerce principles.
Knowledge of Online Marketing systems and ad platforms.
Phone support or sales experience.
Even better if you have:
Two or more years of experience supporting Yahoo Small Business products and services.
Direct experience supporting the Merchant Solutions platform with an understanding of the product.
High level understanding of web hosting and ecommerce technical components and how to troubleshoot failures.
Technical support experience.
Direct experience working with ecommerce marketing and ad platforms.
SEO and ecommerce best practices knowledge and experience.
Account management experience working with high revenue clients.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work well within a team.
Soft skills/call control knowledge.
