The enterprise architect role will apply architectural processes and techniques across the enterprise as they relate to the Pharmacy Member Services model. The role will facilitate the development of a single holistic architecture model for the Member Services Line of Business (LOB) as well as orchestrate cross functional solution attributes from the following solution domains - Business, Data, Information Systems (Applications) and Technology. The role will ensure that the IT Strategy is aligned with the Business Strategy and Operation Models. This role will work with the LOB domain architects and roll up the domain models into the Optum Rx Enterprise Architecture as a key participant in the Optum Rx Enterprise Architecture Group.
The Member Services Enterprise Architect will operate in a complex and diverse Architectural landscape within the pharmacy benefits and services space. The individual will be accountable for providing Enterprise Architecture support including defining and documenting architectural details, business drivers, technology drivers, technology constraints, facilitation and articulation of solution options (with TCO, ROI, benefit alignment and roadmap alignment) and gaining alignment across a wide variety of stakeholders on the target solutions. Works with Line of Business (LOB), Optum Rx Enterprise Architecture group architects and delivery leaders to identify, propose and influence business solutions. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in developing architecture strategies for Pharmacy Member Services platforms.
Lead Pharmacy Member Services Enterprise Architecture activities for OptumRx programs and participate in cross segment projects and programs
Represent Member Services within the Optum Rx Enterprise Architecture Group and facilitate solution analysis efforts, affecting multiple business lines and technologies at the Optum Rx enterprise level
Act as a liaison between LOB segment architects, developers & various SME Technologist within the Optum Rx business solutions space
Perform impact analysis for change against multiple applications, systems or functional domains and develops cost/benefit analysis for each identified solution
Owns core architects elements for the entire solution across critical architecture domains - Business/Process, Application/Services, Data/Information, Technology/Infrastructure/ Operations, Security etc.
Work across business areas, applications, data domains and technologies
Work across multiple organizations, functions and suppliers
Ensure solutions meet business needs along with architecturally significant functional and nonfunctional requirements
Decompose business programs into an actionable set of activities, to include business process modeling, simulation, and validating the business premise
Ensures solution architectures in the Member Services domain adhere to enterprise architecture technical and functional strategies, policies, standards and practices while contributing to broader EA activities
Support the Application Subject Matter Experts in development of estimates/validation of estimates
Support application testing, implementation, and training activities
Perform architectural quality review checks on as built deliveries into production
Lead proof of concept/prototypes/pilot projects as a subject matter expert and have the ability to gain buy-in on the proposed solutions
Serve as technical owner and point of contact for Product Architecture solution definition
Proactively seek opportunities to optimize and enhance current technology portfolio, capabilities and processes
Stay up to date on current technology trends, solutions and vendors
12+ years of progressive architecture growth experience in Pharmacy Benefit and Member web service or business and data architecture domains
5+ years as an Enterprise Architect
6+ years of experience leading transformative initiatives in large enterprise organizations working across multiple lines of businesses
Experience with product life-cycle process from conception through development into production
Demonstrated experience in the development and maturation of Pharmacy Services Systems Architecture
Familiarity with multiple technology platforms, patterns, methodologies and frameworks (in any of the following: Portals/Mobile, SOA, BPM, ECM, MDM, TOGAF, Zachman)
Experience in the any of the following:
Pharmacy Services Call Center/Agent Support CRM
Prior Authorization Management
Clinical/Patient Management Systems/Portals
Outbound Client/Member Communication Print - Mailings
Masters or BS in Computer Science
