Positions in this function are responsible for providing expertise or general claims support to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing and adjusting claims. Authorizes the appropriate payment or refers claims to investigators for further review. Conducts data entry and re-work; analyzes and identifies trends and provides reports as necessary. Primary Responsibilities: Coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily / weekly / monthly activities of a team members Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met, such as Quality and Production, and / or Adherence, Service Level and Average Handling Time Coordinates work activities with other supervisors, managers, departments, etc. Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment Provides coaching and feedback to team members, including formal corrective action Administer human resource policies, salary decisions, incentive programs, and performance management for direct reports Write performance appraisals for direct reports, work with direct reports to develop goals and monitor progress toward achieving those goals Provides expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and / or providers. Coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or unit Impact of work is most often at the team level


Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (or higher) 1+ years of previous leadership experience (subject matter expert, team lead, mentor or supervisor role) 4+ years of experience analyzing and solving customer problems Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate degree (or higher) Experience with HR responsibilities such as Performance Reviews, Performance Coaching and Hiring Experience in a call center or operations environment Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity Careers at UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement.
