The Collector II works in the Collections/Risk Operations environment and will handle routine outbound or inbound calls at any stage of delinquency, up to and including the recovery area. This person solves more complex billing problems and inquiries. Has greater depth of understanding of collections and recovery organization, policies, procedures and systems, and negotiates more complex payment programs or arrangements with minimal guidance.
The Bilingual/Spanish Home Equity Collector will be responsible for assisting Bank of America Home Equity Customers experiencing financial stress. Our associates will be working in a high volume call center assisting delinquent customers overcome minor financial setbacks and will use verbal negotiation, bridging, and empathy skills to accomplish the task.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 12:00 to 9:00pm (2nd shift)
Training Schedule: Mandatory 2 week training Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Qualifications Required Skills: Must have these to be minimally qualified
- Bilingual/Spanish
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have strong negotiation skills
- Ability to multi-task (analyze and negotiate payment arrangements) within time constraints in a fast paced environment.
- Must be a team player who is self-motivated and results-oriented
- Minimum 1 year experience as collector, customer service rep or support specialist in various levels of delinquency and /or products
- Basic computer skills a must
Desired Skills:
- Previous mortgage experience preferred
- Ability to embrace change with a positive approach
- Above average customer service and analytical skills
- Full working knowledge of operational functions, BAC policies & procedures
