The Collector I
Works in the Collections/Risk Operations environment and is typically aligned with the routine outbound collections calling process and frequently requires guidance on non-routine situations. Primary responsibilities are collections, customer servicing and other loss mitigation or recovery activities. Contacts delinquent, charged-off, or high-risk customers in order to secure payment and determine reason for delinquency on active loan/credit card accounts. In the recovery area, collectors will work with customer to establish full balance repayment plans or settlements. Works an established list of accounts on an automated collections system and/or autodialer. This person can resolve routine billing inquiries and negotiate payment arrangements to cure delinquent accounts. Understands and educates customers on account terms and alternate payment programs and methods. Navigates a computerized data entry system or other relevant applications.
Home Retention Division, Collector I:
Works in the Collections/Risk Avoidance Operations environment and is responsible for resolving delinquencies through inbound/outbound collections phone calls.
Primary responsibilities are collections for delinquent home loans, providing world class customer service through effective communication and negotiation skills. Typical customer interactions will require reviewing delinquency patterns, identifying types of loans and resolution options, reviewing a customer's income and expenses. Calls will likely include some form of debt counseling (sharing ways to cut monthly expenses) and may include repayment arrangements to bring delinquent accounts current (cure). Collectors will work with customers to understand mortgage terms, bring accounts current by paying all outstanding payments, assist with research issues and provide loan reinstatement figures as well as develop repayment plans or recommend workout options (like loan modifications, short pay offs and deeds in lieu) when appropriate.
This is a fast paced, high volume call center environment using an automated inbound/outbound dialer system. Qualified candidates will be comfortable discussing personal financial information and asking for payments and/or negotiating repayment/workout solutions as well as have the ability to navigate multiple computer applications/screens and document call activity while effectively communicating with the customer.
