Responsibilities

The PMTS is responsible for the technical leadership, engineering, operations, and tenant operations functions for the following Commercial Data Systems (CDS) platforms in support of VoLTE:

  • Nokia Converged Telephony Server (CTS) – application that provides SIP services to IMS subscriber, provision voice related features to the HSS, and passes billing records to ieCCF
  • Ericsson Telephony Application Server (ETAS): Ericsson application that provides SIP services to IMS subscriber
  • Nokia Centralized Operations and Maintenance (COM): alarming and element management application
  • Nokia Provisioning COM (PCOM): subscriber data provisioning to the CTS and ETAS

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Oversee the planning of the deployment schedule as well as implementation and migration design of the former ALU Voice over LTE (VoLTE) systems
  • Gather all requirements for successful TAS/CTS and P/O COM installation as well as acceptance testing and post installation validation and verification
  • Interface with various suppliers/vendors ensuring that the deployment is executed as planned
  • Provide direction on complex technical design issues and manage to resolution any variances identified
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, while keeping their management and project team fully aware of implementation schedule progress
  • Provide mentoring to the other team members on networking and application design
  • Identify areas of improvement as the deployment evolves
  • Translate high level requirements to an implementable design
  • Assist with the transformation of Nokia CTS and Ericsson TAS Product to the new Cloud infrastructure to support new product features and services
  • Work with vendors, application engineers and other engineering groups to determine overall network design, failure domains, OpenStack availability zones, capacity, serviceability zones within the Verizon Cloud Platform
  • Analyze new vTAS/vCTS vendor’s code base, assess impact, identify any weaknesses and mitigate any challenges of migrating to new vendor’s product
  • Develop pre and post change automation programs and alarming validations methods
  • Troubleshoot operational VoLTE outages, as needed

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of work experience
  • IMS and VoLTE Call Flow knowledge
  • Knowledge of OpenStack
  • Linux Redhat Enterprise O/S

Ideally, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Five to eight  years of system engineering, infrastructure design, and support experience for Nokia or Ericsson VoLTE applications
  • Linux Redhat Enterprise O/S certification
  • OpenStack certification
  • Strong networking knowledge and ability with load balancing technologies
  • Familiar with information security best practices
  • LDAP, Diameter, IPV6, IPV4, Wireshark and other protocol tools and message analyzers
  • Familiar with HP OA, routers, firewalls, and switches
  • Experience working with a high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Protocols (LDAP, DIAMETER, RADIUS, SIP)
  • Scripting skills and languages: JSON, REST, yaml, ansible, Django, PHP, Bash, C++, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, ksh, Python
  • DBMS (Database systems); SQL Server or Oracle
  • Network Routing
  • Firewalls and Load Balancers
  • TCP/IP v4/v6
  • Common Carrier and Enterprise grade Hardware (Sun/Oracle, x86, HP, IBM)
  • Data Center Operations
  • Storage Systems (Arrays and SAN)
