The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company's risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.

The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo's risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

The Enterprise Customer Excellence Group (ECEG) brings together customer-focused functions from across the enterprise to provide a holistic approach to critical points of interaction with Wells Fargo customers. The group, which includes the Enterprise Complaints Management Office, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence and Net Promoter System, is responsible for understanding the causes of issues that affect customers, and providing solutions that ensure customers' needs are understood and supported. The group is also accountable for ensuring regulators' expectations are met and that employees have the tools and training necessary for success.

The Customer Remediation Center of Excellence (CRC) organization is an enterprise function. This organization develops and implements consistent enterprise standards for remediating customer issues across the Wells Fargo enterprise. The organization enables more effective and coordinated monitoring, reporting and stakeholder communications. Enhancing our practices and outcomes for customers is a critical part of building a better Wells Fargo.

The Business Initiatives Cnsltnt 3 - Remediation Strategy & Planning role responsibilities include:
• Developing strategy/approach to address complex business issues
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls across the CRCOE and develop project teams to address solutions
• Building and delivering program plans to implement large scale changes to the organization
• Contributing to the leadership vision to address concepts and strategies at the executive level
• Leading strategic initiatives as directed by Senior Leadership
• Creating detailed project plans, tracking to established deliverables/milestones/timelines, and ensuring target dates are met
• Overseeing efforts with an eye towards having necessary controls in place to mitigate risk
• Ensuring all efforts in scope have clear success metrics and the status, issues, risks, resource needs, implementation dates and impact to other projects are understood and communicated to the right teams and senior leaders across WF
• Supporting change in functions and/or operations usually for multiple business groups/Lines of Business or for a significantly diverse and complex business group within a Line of Business.
• Supporting functions which may include, but are not limited to: policy/procedure administration and adherence, systems/change initiatives, legal and regulatory adherence, SLA negotiation/development, reporting and analysis, project planning, corrective action development, methodology/strategy development, pipeline monitoring, risk and control assessment/development/inventorying, process improvement, quality management, communications, and implementation
• Consulting with management and business partners on strategic approaches, effectiveness of support function, and performance/control improvement opportunities across functions
• Presenting to executive management on progress/performance and recommends strategies to implement changes and improvements
• Utilizing industry expertise, risk and compliance background, and thorough knowledge of business functional areas to support and drive strategic initiatives/impacts cross-functionally
• Providing work direction to multiple-leveled staff within project working groups
• Building and delivering executive presentations; ability to provide complex information in a concise and digestible format

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • 2+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience
  • 2+ years of operations experience


Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ability to represent the company/business units to internal and external auditors, RECOR, OCC, or other regulatory agencies
  • Ability to motivate groups and to quickly gain the trust/confidence of executive leaders
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification


Other Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in the financial Industry working with internal partners, such as Consumer Lending, Deposits, PL&L, WIM, Retail Services, Student Lending (EFS), Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Wells Fargo Practice Finance, Small Business Lending, CB/CIB (formerly known as Wholesale) Legal, Risk, Compliance, Controls, IT&V, Internal Audit, Finance, Data Analytics, Technology and Policy Office to drive forward momentum on projects
• Strategic planning experience, leading Programs with multiple work streams and/or phases aligned, each with a defined scope and timeline, leading all to successful implementation
• Experience with Enterprise Release or other release methodology and WF change management process
• Experience with WF Audit and Compliance Information Security guidelines
• Industry subject matter knowledge and expertise (Business Acumen)
• Proven track record of delivering highly complex projects which involve multiple work streams and a significant amount of risk, business, and technology change through integration or implementation
• Formal project management experience/familiarity with Six Sigma or other formal project methodology
• Ability to assess risk and provide proposed solutions/drive the work to address regulatory and operational risk issues
• Powerful and prolific communication skills with the ability to influence decision making
• Successful at turning preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
